Today’s celebrity sighting is brought to you by Skittles, taste the rainbow! So anyway, I saw Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” in the lobby this morning. Makes sense as FX is on the 4th floor, they probably had a meeting. ‘Twas a good reminder that I should watch that show. I’ve heard good things, but never caught an episode. And now that I don’t have cable, I might have to resort to piratic acts of pirateness.
And what a glorious 2007 it was! How could it not be with the Red Sox as world champions yet again. I think this cements the fact that the curse is gone, 2004 wasn’t a fluke! But maybe the curse backfired. Not so far fetched with all the Yankees’ recent luck; losing Torre, Mattingly, Ass-Rodent and potentially more! (Actually losing A-Rod may be an improvement, no matter how well he plays baseball that guy will always be a major league asshole). Anyway, hopefully the Sox will resign Lowell and Schilling and we’ll see an even better 2008 season with Buckholz, Pedroia, Ellsbury and all these young up and coming players. I can’t wait.
Definitely the best day yet for celebrity sightings. Kiefer – Motherfuckin – Sutherland. I walked out of the elevator onto my floor, turned the corner, BAM! … nearly strolled right into Mr. Jack Bauer himself. “Sorry sir, excuse me,” I said. Then Kiefer replied “Fuck off dude!” And we battled. It ended with him jumping into a christmas tree. Long story.
But anyway, yeah, it was sweet.
And to think… I was worried about coming to Coors Field, high altitude, big outfield, no DH rule, are they gonna take out Ortiz, Lowell, or Youkilis, what about Manny’s speed, can Ellsbury execute as the lead off man, and oh man… Dice-K. But all that quickly went out the window. There was that scare with Holliday’s three-run home run, but there’s just no stopping the Red Sox now. Ten plus runs in their last four games, a ridiculous amount of World Series records have been broken. I haven’t seen such a lopsided WS match up in a long time. Here we go Red Sox, 2nd world championship in 89 years. One game away.
UPDATE (Oct 28): They did it! Woo!
You’re my boy Curt, you’re my boy!
