The Story: A modern day parody of William Shakespeare’s immortal story about Hamlet’s struggle to avenge the death of his father, the King of Denmark.
Production Notes: “Hamlet” was written in about 2 weeks. The first draft was completed after a strenuous process of going through the entire original text of the play and snipping lines and rewriting scenes. The hardest part of writing the script was actually determining how to make each scene funny. We inevitably had to cut some scenes out simply because they would’ve made the movie insanely long or they just weren’t funny enough (though many would argue that some unfunny jokes still remain in the final cut). We decided to leave out the character of Ophelia completely. We also significantly shortened the scenes involving Polonius and Laertes. There were even scenes we filmed that we looked at and decided to cut later. It took us one month to shoot one hour and fourty-five minutes of raw footage for the film. We also edited the footage during that time, bringing the film to it’s final 45 minute length.

In spite of it’s length it was well worth the watch.
Thanks for sitting through it! We made this in 2003, and if I was still able to edit it today I’d definitely tighten things up. Haha.

Thanks, glad we could help! The story does stick to the real Hamlet somewhat, and we even use dialogue straight from Shakespeare.

Ohhh this is my new favourite thing!! lol When did you guys do this? How long did it take you to finish it? And obviously there is an inside joke with that teacher (I’m assuming), “Wildebeast”… haha… I don’t know what it is… but I enjoyed it nonetheless. And in conclusion, I’ve sent this link to many of my English Major friends because it’s awesome.

YESSSS. Wonderful Tom Stoppard allusion! I always liked Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. The guy who plays Hamlet did a really good job with the humor as well as the serious parts. Whoever did the filming was good as well. It seems almost professional. The music was great too. Overall, you did an awesome job, especially incorporating all the modern stuff into it.

Where do you stand in the great bullshit debate? What are your views about bullshit? Is it a significant social force? Is it an important element of modern society? Has bullshit developed in recent years? Is the quality of bullshit as high as in the 1990s? Or do you not have views? Do you need advice from a bullshit guidance expert?Should bullshit become a way of life? Should the future of bullshit be regulated by government legislation, or by qualified independent consultants?
