The Story: NATO: A Revolutionary Alliance is a short documentary on the North-Atlantic Treaty Organization and how it represents revolutions, reforms and reactions in history.
Production Notes: “NATO” was a project we completed for National History Day. The short documentary won top awards from the Clovis Unified School District and the County of Fresno, California. It was also showcased in San Jose at the California State History Day competition.

When the EU has its own millitary planning cabability ( which Sarkozy is pushing for ) it will take away SHAPEs planning dominance. NATO is a shadow of its former power. NATO has outlived it’s original purpose and with the current American agenda it is high time Europe quit. NATO should not be used outside it’s operational area in Europe. Operating in Afghanistan is an abuse of the agreement. I for one would like to see NATO gone and EU forces defending Europe.

NATO has done little for the USA, but the USA has done much for NATO. Afghanistan is proof that NATO nations only apply the importance of the relationship when they are threatened. US out of NATO. We don’t need them!
True the only countries fighting in Afghanistan are US, UK, Denmark and Canada. The other countries have a few hundred troops in the north where theres no fighting, cheeky wankers.

NATO is the strongest alliance in the world. As it continues to expand and absorb former Warsaw pact members, no alliance in the world, not even Russia-China alliance can stand against it.Not to mention that Israel, Pakistan, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, Phillipines, Thailand, Jordan etc… are Major non ally NATO members, which means they are as close as being a member as you can get while not being a full member.
Thats why you are lucky if your country isn’t in any alliance. In every big world war, war started between alliances. When big guys start to fight - move to Switzerland.

I highly doubt that the Soviets would have left Switzerland alone if they had managed to conquer the rest of the world.Which is why I support NATO. Yeah, the US government can be a bastardly a-hole, definitely don’t deny that. Any government can. People in the government tend to think they’re above right and wrong, because all they do is supposedly for the “greater good of their country”.What I did was comparing the US and other countries, where the government has to answer to a voting population, to one like Russia where the ruling party uses flat-out propaganda and even violence to stay in power.
