The Story: NATO: A Revolutionary Alliance is a short documentary on the North-Atlantic Treaty Organization and how it represents revolutions, reforms and reactions in history.
Production Notes: “NATO” was a project we completed for National History Day. The short documentary won top awards from the Clovis Unified School District and the County of Fresno, California. It was also showcased in San Jose at the California State History Day competition.

Sorry but what Germany did is far worse than what America is doing even if the general population were unaware. As you say AMericans known whats happening in Iraq and many are opposed. Such polls are unreliable and especially as they are out of date. Civilian and Iraqi security force deaths have halved since the surge. Progress is being made. It is not an occupation, the democratically elected Iraqi government requests American troops remain and are there under a UN mandate.

The problem isnt that these people dont deserve to suffer its the message it sends to the rest of the world. If America the worlds only democratic super power illegally tortured people then it encourages other nations to do the same and gives them a valid excuse

Unlike Kosovo the majority of people in Scotland wish to remain part of the United Kingdom. Dont get your hopes up on that front.
And unlike,Scotland,entire non-Albanian population (Serbs,Goranis,Gypses, Croatians,Russines,Hungarians) who were loyal Serbian citizens are either killed or expelled from Kosovo.

If Scotland did decide to leave the union whilst alot of people in this country would be angry, the people and our government would accept the democratic vote of the people.Serbia must accept the democratic vote of the people of Kosovo and it wont be allowed to join the European Union which is seeks until it does.

The British Empire was the largest in human history, both in land controlled and in population. Britain has been responsible creating more democracies around the world than any other. We have spread trade, science, technology, helped end slavery, win world wars and were the first country to become go through the industrial revolution.We did alot more good than bad. All European countries dont have a clean history, everyone even switzerland has things they should be ashamed of. :)

WW2 came close to bankrupting Britain and its Empire but the war was won. The only place we had no choice but to grant independence to was India and Israel, everywhere else especially our assets in Africa could of been held on to.
The people of Britain changed and saw the world in a different way. instead of re electing the prime minister who saved the UK during the war who would of rebuilt and maintained Britains strenght, they elected the labour party which stood on major social reforms
You can question why anything and everything throughout history has been done, but you can not deny the result which is far more important.
Britain engaged in slavery, but we outlawed it throughout our empire long before many other european powers and the United States. We enforced the ban on others and that may of been to our economic advantage but the fact remains it saved millions of lives.
