The Story: Documentary on the history of the United Nations.
Production Notes: Produced for National History Day 2003. Showcased and took 3rd Place at the Fresno County History Day Competition. This is our companion piece to “NATO: A Revolutionary Alliance” which took 1st in Fresno County and 13th in the California State History Day Competition 2002.

Nothing is perfect. I think it is time that people grow out of their fantasy worlds were everything is perfect because life is clearly not like that. It is nice to have ideals and to strive for them but the ideal is not met 99.9999% of the time. Ideals are set in place so we have something to continuously work towards. The UN may not have stopped the violence in the Balkins or in anyother place but look at what they did accomplish… Grow up people.

This is why its so important to protect the non violent and good people. When there’s noone left to fight, you’re all gonna turn on eachother.

Irish should consider ending UN missions, for a start.
The UN has lost it’s way. The UN Oil for Food scandal. UN troops raping children in the Congo. The Dutch Peace keepers fleeing Srebenica. This film is typical anti-Serb propaganda. Very few reports were about Bosnian Muslim atrocities against Serbs were reported in the international press. The UN doesn’t work because the member nations are always more interested in their own agendas. End the UN now!

why should the irish consider ending un missions
It is sad. That there are dead soldiers who served to try and make peace somewhere peace cannot be made with just a little army under the UN.
The Irish Army could not protect Ireland from attack.It could not even if it wanted to, take over an island in the pacific.
