The Story: Macshaft, a devoted police officer, makes a huge bust and is promoted to Captain. He gets his first taste of real power in the police ranks and becomes hungry for more. Macshaft and his wife plot to kill the head of the police department, Duncan, so that Macshaft will be promoted to the higher status of Chief. Based on Shakespeare's MacBeth and the motion picture 'Shaft'.

Production Notes: Macshaft was AMF Productions first short film. It was a project made for our English class. It took a whopping two months to film and edit, as we were learning how to do everything for the first time. Macshaft is stocked full with crazy zooms, shaky camera work and long drawn-out shots. But we learned so much about the filmmaking process during the making of this video, that I feel it's necessary to display it here on our website. If anything, Macshaft can serve as a film to be juxtaposed with our more recent works, to show the quality we can achieve now. So...enjoy.
