Alright, yeah, that headline sucks. I apologize. Anyway, I attempted to catch a free screening of “Hitman” at FOX tonight. But things didn’t quite work out. I arrived two minutes late to find a total of four people in the theatre and no movie playing. I waited around for a little bit, then decided to just walk back to my building. When I arrived I noticed the only entrance had been completely taken over by the “Journeyman” crew. So I sat down on a bench and observed the shoot for about 30 minutes. I quickly spotted Kevin McKidd and the series director/exec producer Alex Graves. It was actually quite fun watching, despite not having a jacket and it being ridiculously cold outside. In fact, a cute AD (or maybe she was a PA, or… just… someone who was wearing a headset and radio) approached me and asked how I could stand not having a jacket. I replied, “I dunno. I guess I’m too curious to be cold.” She smirked at my comment and asked me where I worked. I told her, and then that was pretty much it, she had to get back to work. I wish I’d been able to introduce myself or maybe talk about what she was doing on the production. Damn. A good networking opportunity wasted. Perhaps next time.

Today’s celebrity sighting is brought to you by Skittles, taste the rainbow! So anyway, I saw Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” in the lobby this morning. Makes sense as FX is on the 4th floor, they probably had a meeting. ‘Twas a good reminder that I should watch that show. I’ve heard good things, but never caught an episode. And now that I don’t have cable, I might have to resort to piratic acts of pirateness.

Definitely the best day yet for celebrity sightings. Kiefer – Motherfuckin – Sutherland. I walked out of the elevator onto my floor, turned the corner, BAM! … nearly strolled right into Mr. Jack Bauer himself. “Sorry sir, excuse me,” I said. Then Kiefer replied “Fuck off dude!” And we battled. It ended with him jumping into a christmas tree. Long story.

But anyway, yeah, it was sweet.

Quick update tonight here because I’m tired. Go Sox, you’re my boy Josh Beckett, you’re my boy!

Also, saw Brent Spiner (Data from Star Trek) on the lot today. That was cool. Had absolutely no idea who he was at first, thought about it for a good 35 minutes, and determined it was the crazy scientist dude from Independence Day. Yeah… I’m not a Star Trek fan.

My third/kinda fourth celebrity sighting occurred today. I walked out of the 2nd floor elevator in the network building and who steps in but Champ himself David Koechner! He was with a group of folks and I didn’t want to bother him, so it was especially difficult not to break out into an endless stream of Brick quotes. But it was cool though.

Oh and I didn’t see Billy Baldwin again. Thank god.    …Yeah, that’s right Billy. I’m callin’ you out!

I’ve been in LA now for a little over a month and finally the other day I had my first celebrity sighting. It was not particularly exciting. The route I drive every morning from Studio City to West Los Angeles takes me past an elementary school in Beverly Hills. So last Thursday I’m sitting at the stop sign in front of the school, and the cross guard comes strolling by escorting none other than… William Baldwin. Yeah… not even the good Baldwin. Wait are there any good Baldwins? Anywho, I guess Billy and wife Chynna Phillips were walking their kids to school or something.

Oh scratch that, I saw former Red Sox coach and current MLB commentator Kevin Kennedy today at FOX. I said “hi” and he ignored me. That was awesome.

So I was out at Edwards Cinema 22 today for a doubleheader: The Simpsons and Sunshine. While I was making my way to the bathroom for a pre-show rest stop, an employee stopped and exclaimed, “Hey, you’re Bryan Harley! You’re the man, I love your movies.” Taken aback, I quickly replied “Thanks,” and proceeded to the nearest urinal. Strangely enough, this is not the first time this has happened. If I recall correctly, it’s about the fifth time I’ve been recognized locally in public. And these occurrences haven’t become any less awkward or disturbing. So Mr. Edwards Employee, if you’re out there reading, you have thoroughly weirded me out. And I thank you. Keep watching.
